SING Sábme Team

The SING Sábme team is a multidisciplinary group of academics, students and Sámi knowledge holders. With backgrounds in anthropology, natural science (botany and biology), medical science (pathology), planning, traditional land use, and animal husbandry, they have a wide range of experience and skills and are bringing a fresh new community-based approach to the SING model.

Naomi Jayne

Naomi Jayne is a master’s student of the programme of Sustainable Development at Uppsala University. Born and raised in Stockholm, she is writing her master’s thesis on the topic of wind power development in areas that overlap reindeer herding areas in Sweden. The research aims to answer what aspects are considered when deeming wind power “sustainable”, what aspects are neglected, and how this impacts sustainable development.

Elias Marin

Elias is a student in the master’s program in sustainable development at Uppsala University. His master’s thesis focuses on wind power impacts on reindeer herding in Sweden as well as methods used to study microplastic pollution from wind power in the aquatic environment. He has two bachelor’s degrees in history & economic history.
